Norman County East School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Norman County East School District ranked first in the Norman County for test participation, with 108 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Norman County East School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 17.4% over the previous year.

Norman County East School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 46% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 42% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 48% not meeting the expected standards.

Norman County East School District encompasses schools within Norman County and has a main office in Twin Valley.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
