CITY OF BOVEY: Fire Hydrant Flushing Oct. 7

Hydrant

City of Bovey issued the following announcement on Sept. 25.

The City of Bovey Public Works Department will be conducting its semi-annual fire hydrant flushing beginning the week of October 7th and continuing the work until it is completed.  Hydrant flushing is necessary to remove any trapped sediments that may have accumulated in the water mains. Residents may experience some temporary discoloration or reduced pressure of their water during this period.  Allowing the water to run for a few minutes will generally clear up the discoloration. Remove the faucet aerator before purging your water as it may plug up if not removed.   Please ensure you run your water until it clears up before drawing water for drinking, cooking or doing laundry.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  An information sheet containing frequently asked questions concerning hydrant flushing is available on the City website www.cityofbovey.org or a copy may be obtained at the City Hall or click the link below.
