The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is offering physical loss loans to Minnesota farmers who have been impacted by property lost in recent natural disasters.
Low-interest loan applications are now available to help farmers with severe physical loss that includes buildings and livestock, AG Week reported.
Farmers in Goodhue County that have been impacted with physical losses due to high winds or hail on Aug. 8 or Aug. 9 are eligible to apply for these loans. Those in Dajota, Doge, Olmsted, Rice and Wabasha are also eligible in addition to Pepin and Pierce counties in Wisconsin.
Farmers that have been impacted by physical damage due to excessive rain, high winds and hail on Aug. 8 in Yellow Medicine, Chippewa, Lyon, Lac Qui Parle, Redwood, Lincoln and Renville counties are eligible for these loans. Farmers in Deuel County, South Dakota, are also eligible.
Washington County farmers are also eligible for loans if they have suffered loss as a result of hail, high winds or the tornado on July 17 or July 18, AG Week reported. Farmers in Anoka, Chisago, Dakota and Ramsey counties in Minnesota are eligible in addition to Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties in Wisconsin.
