City Of Argyle issued the following announcement on Apr. 21.

This month "IN THE SPOTLIGHT BUSINESS" is United Valley Bank located at 103 W. 3rd Street. 218-437-6631

Please describe the services you offer.

We are a full-service community bank offering everything from checking to savings accounts, from CDs to IRAs, from mortgage loans to business lines of credit, and much more.

How long have you been operating?

Argyle State Bank was opened on June 1, 1936, by local businessmen A.W. (Arvid) Carlson and A.L. (Tony) Carlson.  In 1983, the current bank building was erected across the street from the original bank.  Argyle State Bank continued to grow and serve the Argyle community under the ownership of the Carlson family until 2004, when it joined United Valley Bank.

What are your business hours?

The Argyle branch drive-up hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Lobby hours are 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

What is an interesting fact about your business most people don’t know?

People would be surprised to learn that our footprint in Northwest Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota is quite large.  We have a total of six Minnesota locations in Argyle, Hallock, Lancaster, Crookston, Mahnomen, and Twin Valley, as well as three locations in North Dakota in Cavalier, and two branches in Grand Forks.  United Valley Bank has roughly 70 full-time employees.

Another interesting fact: our CFO Dew Olafson is a member of a local band named Whiskey Wheeler.

What are your plans for the future of your business?

To continue to grow with and serve our community by offering friendly service and expertise that our customers can trust
