City Of Thief River Falls recently issued the following announcement.
Happy MN Fishing Opener The Thief River and Red Lake River both offer excellent fishing. Whether you’re in waders, a boat or just fishing from the bank, the opportunity for walleyes, northern pike, smallmouth bass, crappies and a host of other species is great!
Accessing the river is not a problem with two boat landings within the city limits. You can also get to the river through both city parks and below the dam. With parking lots on both sides of the river and a walkway on the east side, access is easy.
