COUNTY OF MARSHALL: Marshall residents and businesses, the city needs your help to reduce salt use

Wastewater1

County Of Marshall issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.

Marshall residents and businesses, the city needs your help to reduce salt use. Save money while helping the city meet wastewater discharge requirements to protect the Redwood River.  Simply having your water softener settings adjusted to the new hardness of 8 grains per gallon and adjusting salt dose along with other settings can make a big difference in the amount of salt you use and the discharge to the Redwood River!  With grant funding, the city is providing these adjustments, also known as optimization, at no cost to you.  Even if you already adjusted your softener to 8 grains of hardness, the free optimization will further reduce salt use and lower your costs.

To participate, visit the Water Softener Optimization and Rebate program website at http://ci.marshall.mn.us/rebate and find a city-approved contractor.
