Walk to Remember

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive, fatal brain disease that causes problems with memory, decision making, communication and self-care. Alzheimer’s is NOT a normal part of aging. Every 67 seconds, someone in the United States is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, making it the 6th leading cause of death. So how can we all make a difference? Walk to Remember is a community event that literally runs all year long.  Many fund raising events include – pizza sales, garage sales, work lunches, bake sales, crafts etc. The impact of a community coming together to make a difference is a powerful gift. Alzheimer’s/Dementia is a reality and if we can make it a little smoother, a little less scary or overwhelming or put a lift in someone’s heart, then that is what we need to do. We need to let them know that they are not alone and that we are here to help.
