County Of Marshall issued the following announcement on Sep. 02.

The Marshall Police Department has received concerns regarding the placement of political and other signs within the City of Marshall.  The Marshall Police Department would like to remind everyone that the placement of political campaign and other signage is not allowed under state law on any highway or street right of way.  Highway right of way includes driving lanes, inside and outside shoulders, ditches, and sight corners at intersections.  City street right of ways are typically 12 feet from the curb or on the boulevard.  Landowner consent is needed before signs are placed on private property outside of the right of way.

Unlawfully placed signs may be removed by city officials.  For more information about the proper placement of signage, visit:  mndot.gov/govrel/rw_signs.html
