Assumption-Florian Parish Bulletin December 3, 2022

“Therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” Matthew 3:10 Do you bear good fruit for Jesus? Do you spend time in prayer, or do you waste it with mindless activity? Do you use your talent to help others or are you too busy? Do you use your treasure to support the Church, or do you buy more things that go unused. Our time, talent and treasure are gifts from God. What we do with these gifts is our gift back to Him. What gifts are you planning to give to the Lord during this upcoming Christmas season?

Do Something Beautiful for God – The Essential Teachings of Mother TeresaDecember 2 – Open your hearts to the love of God. He loves you with tenderness, and He will give you not just to give but to share. And when you are praying, ask for courage so that when you give you can give until it hurts. This kind of giving is love in action.December 3 – Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you.December 4 – Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.December 5 – Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.December 6 – God dwells in us. It doesn't matter where you are as long as you are clean of heart. Clean of heart means openness, that complete freedom, that detachment that allows you to love God without hindrance, without obstacles. When sin comes into our lives that is a personal obstacle between us and God. Sin is nothing but slavery.December 7 – I can do things you cannot, and you can do things I cannot. Together we can do great things.December 8 – We need to know when we say yes to God exactly what is in that yes. Yes means “I surrender”-totally, fully, without any counting the cost, without asking, “Is it convenient?” Our yes to God is without any reservations.
