With the original loop in this video, you can see that it is basically a circle. Due to this geometry, the rider experienced high forces as they got about 1/2 way around. You can see the rider had a pad on the handlebars to rest his helmet and support him as he went. The new loop that can be seen at the Polaris Experience Center has a sort of teardrop shape. This made the force on the rider much more manageable. They didn’t have to rely on a handlebar pad.
