How did Kittson Central School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

Kittson Central School District ranked first in the Kittson County for test participation, with 123 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Kittson Central School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year remained unchanged from the previous year.

Kittson Central School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 50% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 33% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, eighth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 27% not meeting the expected standards.

Kittson Central School District encompasses schools within Kittson County and has a main office in Hallock.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
