Were students of Grygla Public School District able to meet MCA and MTAS Reading testing expectations in 2021-22 school year?

Grygla Public School District ranked third in the Marshall County for test participation, with 74 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Grygla Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 1.4% over the previous year.

Grygla Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 40% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 23% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 50% not meeting the expected standards.

Grygla Public School District encompasses schools within Marshall County and has a main office in Grygla.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
