634 students enrolled in Kittson County schools in 2024-25 school year

There were 634 students enrolled in Kittson County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 2.4% more than the previous year, according to reports from the Minnesota Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Kittson County comprised 51.6% boys, with girls representing the remaining 48.4%.

Data also showed that white students made up 90.7% of the student body, the largest percentage in Kittson County schools, followed by Hispanic students with 4.4%, 1.9% multiracial students, 1.9% Black students, 0.6% Asian students, 0.3% American Indian students and 0.2% Other Indigenous Peoples students.

Kittson Central Elementary had the highest enrollment among Kittson County's six schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 139 students.

With more than 870,000 students enrolled, Minnesota's public school system is the 10th-largest in the United States. As of 2025 the student-to-teacher ratio in the state’s public schools is 15 to 1, on par with the national average.
