White Earth Tribal And Community College issued the following announcement on Dec. 01. 

The Community Extension Service at the White Earth Tribal and Community College works to strengthen food sovereignty by growing our community’s relationship with our indigenous food practices. Our goal is to support our relatives within the community and help foster sustainability without the use of pesticides or chemical agents as our ancestors have in the past.

Spring, Summer, and Fall Harvest

 65 garden beds locally crafted and distributed to our Elders

 259 shrubs and berry plants distributed to the community

 2,035 LBS of fresh produce provided to the community and Elder Nutrition Program

 126 trees distributed and planted by community programs

 80 trees planted for our WETCC campus

 5,515 plant starts distributed to community

 11,000 seed packets distributed to community
