The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) reopened the right lane of eastbound Highway 10 in Moorhead, but there is no timeline to reopen the left lane for traffic, its website reported.
The area in question is east of 14th Street and near the railroad overpass.
On Dec. 2, MnDOT crews repaired a hole that they learned was much larger than they originally thought. The City of Moorhead alerted the agency to the hole. For crews to investigate, the eastbound lanes of Highway 10 were closed and discovered that the storm sewer system below the roadway could have contributed to the creation of this hole.
Drivers should be ready for temporary closures and delays as crews continue the work in that area. Drivers should use caution and slow down in the work zone. As always, motorists are reminded that they should never enter a roadway that has been blocked by barriers or cones. This is for their safety and the safety of the workers.
