Ojibwe Makizinikewin (Ojibwe Moccasin Making)

Join us for this full-day workshop to learn the traditional Ojibwe Moccasin making techniques.

We will review the book Grandmother’s Gift as we learn about this tradition, patterns, and different styles of moccasins.

Using elk hide and beadwork, after choosing your size, at the end you will be completing your very own set of traditional round toe Ojibwe Moccasins.

We will meet from 10am to 5pm. There will be a break for lunch where you can go grab something or feel free to bring your own lunch and eat at the FSW.

Instructor: Desire Freude

No experience necessary however must be 15 years old or older. Fabric, pattern, needles and thread will be provided as part of the ticket purchase. Helpful to have some previous knowledge of sewing.
