CITY OF BROOKS: 2020 Street Improvement Program

Application

City of Brooks issued the following announcement on May 07.

The City of Brooks’ annual Street Improvement Program is set to begin on May 19 and includes Griffin Park Lane, Community Culture Centre (CCC) Lane, 100 and 200 blocks of Centre Street, 2nd Street E. and the Sutherland Drive / Cassils Road E. intersection.

Work will begin on the 100 and 200 blocks of Centre Street, then move to 2nd Street E., Griffin Park Lane and the CCC Lane and finish with the Sutherland/Cassils intersection at the end of August.

Here is a brief description of what each project entails:

  • Centre Street – 100 and 200 Blocks:  Sanitary and Water Service Replacement.
  • 2nd Street E – 100, 200 and 300 Blocks: Full base, road, curb and gutter and sidewalk replacement.
  • Griffin School Lane: Full base and gravel replacement.
  • CCC Lane: Full base and asphalt replacement.
  • Cassils Road E. and Sutherland Dr, E. intersection: Mill and pave intersection.
The City will continue to communicate updates as they occur. Landowners affected will be contacted prior to the start of construction.

During the different phases of the work, some driveways and access to houses and businesses may be affected.  Residents and motorists should take extra care to obey all “no parking” signs, flag people, speed limits and other construction signage.
